Welcome to Colfax Township

Colfax Township is situated in the southeast corner of beautiful Benzie County, Michigan. The township is about 40% state land and has 585 residents. Hunting, golfing, and camping are popular summer pastimes, along with skiing, snowmobiling, and sledding in the winter months. Fishing and canoeing are also prevalent along the Betsie River. 

Colfax Township residents enjoy the quiet rural character, yet have the convenience of the services offered by the nearby villages of Thompsonville and Beulah. The larger cities of Manistee, Cadillac, and Traverse City are only about thirty-five miles from the township.

NEWS NOTES AND EVENTS

The Friends of the Betsie Valley Library have something special happening on April 26 at Crystal Mountain.

A "White Elephant" sale is being planned!

The sale will begin at 3:00 P.M. (tentative) and continuing until 8:00 P.M.  They hope to have some silent auction items as well.

Crystal Mountain will have a beverage cart and snack set up at the event.

Also the Garden Tour is set for June 24 and Elisabeth Smith is the Chair.
